If you’re going on a cruise, what you pack is one of the important decisions you’re going to have to make as you prepare for your trip. You’ll most likely have minimum space in your cabin to put your clothes once you unpack, and you’ll have several events you’ll want to bring particular outfits for, such as the Captain’s Dinner, all of the excursions you’re going on, and appropriate attire for different weather conditions you may face on your journey.
Because you’ll be on the water, the temperature could change drastically during your cruise, and you’ll want to make sure you have something to keep you warm on chilly nights, such as a nice wrap, shawl, or sweater. For the Captain’s Dinner, you’ll need something formal, and you’ll want to pack that in a good garment bag to keep clean and safe until the dinner. The rest of your travel clothes need to be appropriate for the weather conditions you’ll be in and able to be stored easily.
Once you have decided what clothing you’ll need for your cruise, you should lay it all out on your bed, so you can see exactly what you have to pack. Fold everything you can neatly, and begin packing it all in your suitcase. You can place your shoes in zippered plastic bags and place them on top of your clothes. Hang your formal wear in a zippered garment bag, and place your shoes in the bottom of the bag, wrapped in a zippered plastic bag.
Pack your toiletries, medications, and other smaller items, such as jewelry, in a separate smaller bag. Depending on how much room you have in your cabin, you may wish to leave these items in the bag, and pull out what you need when on a daily basis. Instead of bringing all of your medications in their bottles, pack a travel pill case that has everything you need for each day of your cruise.
